Neurology Centers of the Carolinas, P.A. is a group practice with seven neurologists across two locations representing several subspecialty areas including adult neurology, clinical neurophysiology with EEG and evoked potentials, neuromuscular disease including academic quality nerve conduction and electromyography laboratory services, epilepsy with appropriate diagnostic services such as EEG and inpatient video-EEG monitoring, sleep medicine with a free-standing laboratory and participation at two hospital-based laboratories, stroke medicine with a fellowship trained cerebrovascular disease expert and neurovascular laboratory, autonomic disorders laboratory, and developing a neurorehabilitation program appropriate for our community's needs.

Our busy 6-provider Spartanburg, SC office is seeking an experienced billing office specialist with duties to include but not limited to:

- File insurance claims for services rendered
- Process completed Superbills & other charges for reimbursement
- Collect patient payments through mail/phone
- Verify/run insurance eligibility
- Process procedure/office visit precertification
- Assist patients with billing/collection concerns
- Answer and direct calls from patients, providers, and business associates

Minimum qualifications:

- High school diploma required
- Experience with personal computers
- Must possess excellent oral and verbal communicative skills and demonstrates ability to work well with people and handle potentially stressful situations
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex tasks and possess a high degree of flexibility of skills
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and billing, ICD-9 coding, CPT codes.
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to adapt to special circumstances such as patient emergencies and/or staffing issues
- Ability to think analytically in order to produce quality work; works efficiently and professionally
- Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to all ages and responds to all customers/patients requests/needs
- Ability to work independently or in conjunction with nursing or other personnel to serve the needs of the patient, their families, and/or their representatives
- Experience in a healthcare billing department with related A/P and A/R duties

Preferred qualifications:

- College Degree
- Experience in private practice setting
