The DW/BI Architect - Healthcare is responsible for designing, developing, managing and delivering state of the art database platforms and solutions. These database platforms and solutions are critical to powering the current and future transactional and analytical tools for New Century Health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
>Design and monitor construction of an enterprise data warehouse, working with a team of engineers.
>Design and monitor construction of user-facing presentation tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server >Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
>Design and monitor construction of Enterprise Transformation Language (ETL) processes.
>Establish and implement standards and strategies for data management, lifecycle, and quality.
>Explain and teach business intelligence and data warehouse concepts throughout the company.
>Define best practices and standards for the data modeling process.
>Creation and maintenance of the logical and physical data models for the production and >Business Intelligence data warehouse and data marts.
>Participate in data design walkthroughs to communicate data warehouse and Data Mart table designs to ETL developers.
>Develop prototype views and reports of the data, and work with business users both internal and external to refine their requirements.
>Demonstrate self-reliance in researching technical solutions and product functionality.
>Continuously improve upon existing approaches by seeking opportunity to creatively transform current business practices into fresh alternative solutions.
>Identify critical integration issues and develop corrective solutions.
>Communicate with team members to assess progress of deliverables.
>Maintenance and Administration of the database platforms.
>Performance Tuning of existing data structures.
>Administration and Monitoring of data protection needs as they relate to the database platforms and solutions.
>Performs other duties as assigned.
>Experience with high volume processing in near real-time data movement ( >1 M transactions/day), EMR integration/data handling, working with remote teams and matrix environment, and predictive modeling.
>Proven experience in logical and physical data modeling.
>Knowledge of addressing performance issues and involved in query tuning, indexing, data profiling, DMV’s, DMF’s, and other database related activities.
>Expertise in full life cycle of business intelligence and big data.
>Requires experience in healthcare (e.g. claims, finance, authorizations, pharmacy).
>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or Computer Engineering.
>Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD).
>Requires six (6) to ten (10) years’ experience as a Database Administrator or related field. >Requires knowledge of SQL, ETL, SSRIS, SSIS, SSAS. Familiarity with MS Analysis Services, PowerPoint, PowerView.
>Hands on experience with data modeling, building queries, data warehouse, data marts, and cubes.
>Experience with SharePoint Integration.
>Familiarity with DWE best practices.
>Good presentation and communication skills.
