The Administrative Assistant will provide support to New England Hematology Oncology Associates staff and physicians by performing secretarial and receptionist duties as requested. He/she will have primary responsibility for handling of all phones calls related to patient care including but not limited to, scheduling, sick calls, requests for information including Rx refills, test results and general information. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for timely and efficient answering of phone calls, completion and distribution of clear and concise messages, triage of all calls and messages and back-up to other administrative staff when necessary. When questions arise, the Administrative Assistant will seek input and direction from the Administrative Director as needed. The Administrative Assistant must maintain various databases of patient information including registering new patients, updating patient information, scheduling and rescheduling appointments as necessary.
Position requires exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing. 1-2 years of experience in a busy medical office setting is required. Prior experience with answering busy phones is also required.
