New England Hematology Oncology Associates at the Vernon Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital is looking for an expereinced Clinical Pharmacist. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team providing cost-effective, patient-centered oncology care. The Clinical Pharmacist is directly involved in the process of prescribing, dispensing, administering and monitoring chemotherapeutic agents and supportive medication in the oncology infusion suite. The Clinical Pharmacist will assess medical and drug literature; be knowledgeable to participate in evaluation of oncology treatment protocols, as well as provide drug information. Develops and oversees a comprehensive quality assurance model, which includes checks and balances in support of a best practice model for the prescribing, order entry, preparation and delivery of hematology/oncology specific medication.
The Clinical Pharmacist must have experience mixing and handing chemotherapeutic agents and will be required to provide back up to the technician on an as needed basis. Must be computer proficient with strong financial analysis skills. Prior experience with electronic medical record management. Experience with inventory management and drug pricing also required.
BS required, PharmD preferred. Oncology experience preferred.
