Productive and freiendly work place.
Sales associate (Former Employee), Wayne, NJJanuary 28, 2014
Working at New York and Company was my first retail job, the experience was worth while. I enjoyed meeting and interacting with different customers with different personalities. It tested my patience and showed me that I indeed love working with people. My co-workers were a joy to work with. They made the day go by faster. The hardest part of this job – more... was the two hour commute. I overall enjoyed working at New York & Company. – less

Great Place
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Snellville, GAJanuary 25, 2014
Its a great Place to make some extra money i.e. paying off a credit card etc. It is a promising place for growth within the company if you feel this is the place for you. I enjoy the customers and the regulars. The only issue that I do have is the on call shifts they are the worst... But again a great place to work.

Seasonal Associate
SALES ASSOCIATE (Current Employee), New York, NYJanuary 25, 2014
Pros: during holidays more hours
Cons: when holiday season is done there are barely any hours to work
Usually they would start with you knowing their product letting you work on the floor or do stock checks. Overall they will teach you what you need to know.

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Hanover, MDJanuary 23, 2014
The work was okay, they would single you out. I learned what went on from day to day. The management team was mixed. Majority of them were rude.

Sales Associate, Moorestown Mall (Former Employee), Moorestown, NJJanuary 12, 2014
Pros: great managers
Cons: no full time positions available
I worked part time as a sales/marketing associate. I would set up the floor displays and position the seasonal marketing for the new arrivals per coporate. I most enjoyed working with the marketing and assisting the floor display set ups.

Seasonal Sales Associate (Current Employee), Manchester, CTJanuary 8, 2014
The management is good there are no problems. It is a nice and welcoming environment and the co-works are nice and never have a attitude or anything. It is good to come into work and be told where they need me and I can go from there, since it is very organized and everyone knows what is going on.

My Experience With New York & Company
SALES ASSOICIATE (Current Employee), Gaffney, SCDecember 17, 2013
Pros: flexible scheduling
Cons: opening credit cards
A typical day at work consists of conversing with and assisting new and familiar customers who are in search of the perfect outfit for any specific occasion. I've learned that a simple conversation, along with a friendly smile, can go a long way. The management staff here is cooperative, along with my co-workers. We make a great team! The hardest part – more... of the job is convincing a customer to become a NYC credit card member, but the most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the expression on the customer's face when they've found what they're looking for. It's also enjoyable to tell them how much they've saved! – less
