Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 4, 2015
NYCHHC allows you to make a measurable contribution, strong office and computer skills; sound judgment with an appropriate sense of urgency and an ability to exercise independent discretion; demonstrated self-starter, committed to excellence and willing to take ownership of responsibilities; proactive, confident approach to work and interpersonal relations, to develop and grow and to get to the next level. My drive for excellence, putting every part of myself into achieving it. I consistently strive to become the very best I can become with leadership abilities, technical skills, willingness to be flexible and juggle priories to get the job done, motivation, communication and good team spirit.
Pros

Deplorable wage advertisement
Potential applicant (Former Employee) –  New York, New YorkOctober 3, 2015
I do not work for New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, however, I do feel inclined to write a review after reading their advertisement for Laboratory Technologist (Medical Laboratory Scientist). The proposed salary stated is an approximate $40,000 per annum. As a phlebotomist with no college education, I made approximately $35,000. To offer a person who obtained a Bachelors degree that is heavily science weighted is an insult. We are typically more education in regard to the human body than BSN yet acknowledgement via compensation is significantly less than that of a nurse. My question, when will these organizations stop taking advantage of the quiet nature of Med Lab Scientist and compensate them accordingly? After all, it is not like the funds are not there, the lab is one of the few departments that actually makes an institution money. Now you have the answer as to why there exists a devasting shortage in the field.
Pros
Large organization with potential to offer benefits
Cons
Terrible starting salary for Med Lab Scientists

Assistant Coordinating Manager (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 24, 2013
I typically spend my entire day running around between different areas of the hospital. I've learned there is good and bad in all occupations and that the road less traveled is the way to success. The hardest part of the job is wanting more of the establishment in the ways of motivating staff. The most enjoyable part of the job is the ability to care for others and provide service to a needy community.
Pros
meaningful work, overtime
Cons
less than motivated employees, discipline is hard to come by
