Internship (Former Employee) –  New York, NYOctober 14, 2016
This internship required me to attend a minimum of 6 hours a week. It is a nature conservation organization for which I had to attend public events and work in gardens as well as cleaning public areas. The administrator additionally taught me public speaking skills.

Americorp Landscape Crew Member (Current Employee) –  New York, NYAugust 29, 2016
A lot is expected from the NYRP operations staff and americorp members, however a lot of effort is made to ensure that the overall NYRP experiance is enjoyable. There are many opportunities to take horticulture classes, go to environmental and sustainable events, and other fun free thinks such as ball games and tours

Park Maintenance (Former Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 18, 2013
Working for NYRP as an Americorp member was a fullfilling job
NYRP taught me the native species of trees and flora. the proper
way of maintaining them. I worked along side many volunteers while
working at NYRP. I had a feeling of giving back to the community
I was serving. My co-worker were just as dedicated as I was. We
had a feeling of making the enviroment safer for all ages. The hardest part of the job was leaving when my term of service was
completed.
Pros
seeing the beauty of your work in seeing a cleaner park with living plants and thriving trees
Cons
just once in a while being outdoors was difficult due to weather conditions
