Hard Work,Fantastic Salary
LPN Charge Nurse (Former Employee) – Philadelphia, PA – August 28, 2015
Germantown Home is an iffy place to work and this is why:The pay and benefits are top notch. The training in the beginning is adequate. There are too many 'Bosses, and no mentors'. The workload is enjoyable to all but a select few (LPNS,RN SPVRs). Everyday these particular employees have to stay over to complete their shift work, because the LPN has to assist in Dining Room when they should be passing meds, and the RN SPVR is completing the work the LPN doesn't have time to do(If u have an RN teamplayer, otherwise that's the LPNs job too). Prepare to stay late. The usual drama/gossip/hearsay goes on,as its a female-driven environment, but can be avoided if you keep your own counsel. Don't be blinded by the fact they offer a pension,as longevity is not a guarantee. And do not steal time. Finally,go back to school(its free),keep your outside options open, and hang in there!
