The Corporate Audit Department examines and assesses business activities as a service to News Corp’s management, Board of Directors and Audit Committee. It provides an independent assessment of risk and the effectiveness of internal operating and financial controls.
The Corporate Audit Department provides assessments of:
The adequacy, appropriateness and effectiveness of internal controls;
The extent of compliance with Company policies and procedures;
The accuracy and security of data and information;
The accountability for the Company’s assets to safeguard against loss;
The economy and efficiency with which resources are employed; and,
The level of compliance by business partners with contractual arrangements.
Desired Skills and Experience
Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to understand complex business processes, have a history of identifying and quantifying business risks and adding value to an organization. They will also need to be a team player with strong analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment. Experience with IT auditing or SOX 404 preferred. An ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of management is essential. A CIA, CPA or equivalent qualification is expected together with at least 4 years relevant experience. Travel, including international, can be expected about 20% of the time.
