Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Conroe, TX – November 30, 2015
I worked for this company for 4 months not realizing I would eventually be taken for granted. I was told I would receive a raise and benefits in 30 days, nope, never happened. HR didn't even know about it. Management has less legal environmental knowledge than what's needed to run the business safely. I am glad I left!
Industrial Markets Sales Representative (Former Employee) – United States – October 13, 2016
I enjoyed my tenure at Delta. They treat you like a family and actually care if you do well. Look this isn't an easy job. Carrying chemicals in your trunk and calling on anybody that cleans something dirty. But if you don't have any sales experience and wondering if you got what it takes, this is the place to start.
good products, help with getting your territory started
Good company overall constantly going through many changes
Senior Financial Analyst (Current Employee) – The Woodlands, TX – September 2, 2015
Good company overall going through a lot of changes. Some of the pros are good salaries and benefits, excellent co-workers and an engaged team. Some of the cons are too many politics in day-to-day activities and visualizing your career path.
Floor Technician (Current Employee) – Lincoln, AL – July 5, 2015
the work isn't that bad. the majority of the problems you face are with your own management department. I've been lied to about my advancement and salary increase all while doing the work required for the advancement and salary increase. I'm sure not all nexeo accounts are this bad but from my personal experience, they have left a bad taste in my mouth.
Administrative (Current Employee) – Ohio – September 29, 2012
The benefits/compensation, culture and management deserve a negative one or two stars. This company is so disorganized. Even though they keep spending money to bring in higher up management everything becomes more jumbled. They are a company of working everyone but top level executives to complete exhaustion. The employee morale is so low. If it gets any lower there might be mass wave of Nexeo employees jumping off bridges. There is no perks to doing your job and doing it well, besides obtaining another job title and responsibilities in which you were not hired for. No raises. No bonuses. Not even pizza parties. They might as well in employee reviews hand out guns and nooses. Currently looking for a new job. Does the Apple combine have any openings?
co-workers, but lately everyone's been in a bad mood
Driver (Former Employee) – Denver, CO – June 7, 2016
Hitler reincarnated. Be prepaired to sell your soul..24/7 365 am/pm. and anytime in between that I forgot. Run away, in all my years working all over the country I never ever encountered a more dysfunctional place. Total waste of time, and lots of new grey hair.
tank farm operator/ blender (Current Employee) – Conroe, TX – February 16, 2015
I feel like i am working more than normal just to get the work done and the company doesnt apriciate my work. is alot of thinking when you have to unload 12 trucks, blend 4 -6 blend of 5000-6500gls and load them all, and sometime still go to the railcard to get a load of quimical to transffere to our storage tank. work that hard for only .50 cents raise a year. As a worker i will give the best of me anywhere i work at but i expect something back.
Hazmat tank driver/Dispatch help/Yard mule help (Current Employee) – Willis Texas – February 15, 2015
Great benefits and good pay, the issue with this company is that the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing so there is lots of confusion on what the rules are. There are also people in positions that know nothing about truck driving that are simply there because of the merger from another company which makes it difficult for the drivers to do their job with no liason to lean on for help.
driver (Former Employee) – ohio – January 19, 2013
Very disorganized. TPG investments has a track record of closing facilities and cutting personnel. Basically as one person at a facility that TPG previously owned informed myself "they will clean you up and sell you or close you". Not very good benefits and discrimination and nepotism runs rampant. Pay was decent as was hours but that is about the only good side. Personally I think they should get rid of the old regime from Ashland and start fresh. Too much of the good ole boy network going on there. Took a slight pay cut with better benefits and a better working environment just to get away from the favoritism that exsisted there.
Growing company experiencing the normal cycles of a new orgainzation.
NA Packaging & Procurement Operations Manager (Former Employee) – Houston, TX – June 30, 2014
The company is still in a forming stage in its 3 year of existence. Putting processes and procedures in place and trying to establish a culture employees can identify with. This will be difficult as the company is made up of experienced professionals with strong chemical backgrounds and believe their former culture represents Best Demonstrated Practices. However that is what should ultimately make the company extremely successful, the experience and commitment of the professionals referenced earlier.
Compensation is very competitive and matches the expectations for results. The employees are certainly the most enjoyable part of this company, as each of them are working hard to help contribute to the improved market share that is desired by all in this industry.
For anyone seeking a challenge, opportunity and competitive salaries, then I would strongly recommend this company. Three words of caution, Work Life Balance. It's easy to get caught up working from home until midnight because you can see the incremental improvements of you or your teams efforts.
material handler (Current Employee) – Carteret, NJ – April 4, 2014
It is the most incompetent and mismanaged company i have ever worked for. very disorganized. inventory control is non existent. consistently run out of product on a daily basis. they care nothing about the employees. stay away. no accolades for a job well done. just push for more. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Typical big business, bulldoze employees, horrible medical/benefits.
Material Handler (Current Employee) – Fairfield – August 7, 2012
I know the job market is down, but, would you like to work for a company that you will start working for at the bottom of the payscale during a HIRING FREEZE? Implemented by the company during a BATTLE with the employees/union, (notice not one word about having to join Teamsters local 70 in the job description), concerning the fact that the company we used to work for was BOUGHT OUT in the middle of a contract and our pension is no longer being paid into? On top of this the medical is so poor it will cost you not only a monthly payroll deduction for premiums, but, carries a 3000$ deductable, and after the deductable is met, it will cost you 20% of the total bill. Not to mention that the goal of the company is to DE-UNIONIZE the facility, which will leave the company to decide on everything from horrible wages, to whom they would like to harass, to not recognizing seniority, to never having to pay into a pension trust again. ( A pension trust program, with the Teamsters ) that could be one of the last ways anyone could ever afford to retire. (We all know we can't trust the over-rated 401k). So....good luck......P.S., T.P.G. is the real owner, an investment company, and soon they will flip this company, and things will only get worse.
over-cautious safety, will keep you from having to strain yourself.
Customer Service (Current Employee) – Dublin, OH – September 10, 2015
hired for customer service but turns out to be more account management, which is fine if the pay compensated for the work load. High turnover, people learn and move on to something better after getting the initial training. Management is a joke. All talk and no action and no follow through. Was a great place to work but has been declining steadily for the last four years.
Customer Service Representative / Account Manager (Former Employee) – Dublin, OH – February 3, 2015
I loved my job at Nexeo Solutions (FKA: Ashland Distribution). I was warmly welcomed into the composites customer service team when I started there. I stayed with the same team up until my departure from the company. NOTE: This review is MY experience here meaning that it doesn't pertain to any other employees' opinion of the company.
I cannot say much, if I told all that I think of my experience here I would be typing this for far too long. I started as a temporary. I was hired full time shortly after. I felt so welcomed into the team that they soon became like family. (I know other areas of this company and a lot of those employees' feel the same as I do) I had the best supervisor and management. My sales team was awesome! My fellow CSR teammates never failed me. This company is very team oriented and each person is fully expected to hold their own as well as your teams back if needed. I was never over worked I don't believe. If I was then I believe I asked for it. I was ALWAYS acknowledged for a job well done and was compensated for it in one form or another. Same goes for if I messed up it was never over looked and it was brought to my attention in a very professional and fair manner .... they offered ways to avoid it next time. This company WANTS you to excel!
It should be said that the only reason I am longer employed here is because I was given the opportunity to be a stay at home mother for my son. (I went through pregnancy and maternity leave here, which by the way they were always supportive and I was given all the time I needed) I gave them thatmore... I was leaving and I was so well respected for my decision even while they hated to see me go. I was given a beautiful good bye party which I walked away in tears.
All in all, a wonderful place of employment, room to grow, incentives, vacation, sick time, benefits (you pay for unfortunately) but still ok, team oriented, travel available if needed, support, always trained sufficiently before expected to perform alone.less
1 hour lunches, on site gym, on site cafe, on site credit union, tons of pot lucks, free catered lunches often
Can't think of any that could pertain to just any one person
Tax Manager (Former Employee) – The Woodlands, TX – February 10, 2015
Absolutely NO work life balance especially in the accounting and tax departments. Company is way under staffed and management does not care. Management refuses to provide adequate resources to get the job done right. Lots of dissatisfied employees with lots of turn over!
Overall a great work environment, Great management. I believe if you are talented and hard working, you would excel in your career. You are challenged every day to achieve more and allows you to test your limits and step out of your comfort zone.
