Welding Supervisor to take responsibility for production robotic welding, manual welding and product hardfacing. The Supervisor is responsible for job assignments, work center scheduling, process troubleshooting, fixture design, programming robot controls, training, quality control, safety compliance, accurate inventory of work in process, supplies, and of welder repair parts.
The successful candidate initiates priorities and objectives for his production area and can learn new skills. and is motivated by challenges. The Supervisor tracks productivity, maintains accurate statistics and strives for process improvement, and displays an aggressive willingness lead others and to cooperate with those he supervises. The Robotic Welding Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager.
Work in a safe manner, has good reading comprehension, exhibits good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors, able to work with tools common to the welding trade, recognizes welding defects, uses and understands measuring tools, has experience with data entry to a computer program.
The successful candidate understands robot welding processes and equipment arrayed in a manufacturing environment. Displays manual dexterity and understands mechanical interactions of machine components. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Minimum education: vocational schools, experience and certificates. Competent at arithmetic.
Physical demands: Candidate must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, squat, lift 70 pounds, will talk and hear to communicate, use arms and legs and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, or pull objects, materials, controls and tools. May be required to lift, carry, and move 70 pounds. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear PPE including but not limited to hard hats, steel toe boots, glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, safety vests, and gloves. Able to distinguish alarms and signals.
Work environment: factory environment that is hot or cold, best described as dirty and sweaty, noise levels are moderate with proper PPE, stamping shop or welding shop environment.
