Decent Place To Work - Tough Trading Environment
Options Volatility Trader/Market Maker (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJuly 23, 2013
Learned a lot about options, volatility trading, and pricing models. The environment is a bit tough as the business is generally struggling in a difficult trading environment. Very little feedback when things are going well, put on the defensive when things are not as lucrative Typical trading environment.
Pros
decent salary, great benefits
Cons
very high trading expenses, across the board salary cuts in tough environment, not a lot of communication from risk

Trusting environment that gives you wings
Portfolio Manager (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILApril 9, 2013
The firm assumes you're driven and talented and extends refined proprietary tools to help you succeed. However, the firm's fixed costs are notable. The costs aren't much of an issue when times are good, but could encourage over-trading when times are slow in order to cover the monthly nut. Management is wonderfully straightforward. Not warm and fuzzy, but not phony.
Pros
good tools, little micromanaging/interference
Cons
high costs
