This non profit has such great potential with the right leadership. It still struggles with maintaining a value system and integrity.

I enjoy giving back to those in need. Helping Another Develop Success.
Executive Director (Current Employee), Fairfax, VAOctober 12, 2014
Pros: the opportunity to be creative and deal with people of all walks of life.
Cons: funding shortages, no healthcare and 401 k benefits and commuting
I enjoy working with the youth and seniors. I receive wisdom from the seniors that I interact with on a weekly basis and receive lots of energy and motivation from the youth!

My typical day at the non – more... profit is never the same. Working in the social services arena is a very unique environment. I have learned that you must have a passion and desire to want to help others and learn how to take on the challenges in a positive manner; with a thought of always thinking there is a solution.

I enjoy meeting new people networking to form possible partnerships with other non profits, businesses, churches and individuals. I believe in the motto that I assisted in creating for the non profit "All Hands Together Can Make A Difference"

My challenges working with a small non profit has been to find professional talent (staff, volunteers, board members) that have the passion and are dedicated because of wanting to help and not for their personal needs. – less

Good place to work and master your craft
Communications and Database Manager (Former Employee), Bethpage, NYAugust 11, 2014
A typical day at work was 9-5. Though it went very fast on a day to day basis and Im guessing it's because I love what I do. I love event planning and learning all I can about it. I know it can be stressful – more... but to see your event go from concept to reality is the best feeling. I was the manager of communications in the development department and I worked with a great team and had a great supervisor. The hardest part of the job for me was the non creative aspect of things. I like to be creative, think and analyze. The most enjoyable was making everyone happy and proud at every event or situation. – less

Very Productive, Learned a lot
Administrative Assistant at Harlem RBI (Current Employee), New York, NYApril 7, 2014
Pros: full hour lunch
Cons: no cons
This was my first real job experience. It was a summer job and I learned a lot about the logistics of hospital operations. The management team was extremely helpful and professional. My coworkers were – more... just as eager as I to learn and grow. The hardest part of the job was the constant running back and forth in the hospital. The most enjoyable part was interacting with patients and working in a hospital setting – less

Very Inspiring and definitely fun to be a part and have a voice!
Associate Speaker (Current Employee), LosAngelesFebruary 27, 2014
Pros: teamwork, outings, traveling
Cons: need for more donations
A typical work day when we are hard at work is very exciting since we know that we have an important work to do for others.
Our goal is to serve others. I learned how to work smart and effective as well – more... as in a timely manner. My co-laborers and I have a partnership where we feed off each other's inspiration through our dedication to the work.
The hardest part of the job is maybe following up with 3rd party associates and maintaining the work with the donations that come our way.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the results of our labors and being reminded of why we do this kind of work. – less
