Hard to advance and get promoted
Energy Engineer (Former Employee) –  North CarolinaJanuary 15, 2016
Hard to advance and get promoted. Some do not move up in this company easily. Work to home life balance is not good. Lots of travel, which makes it very difficult to have a balanced home life.

NORESCO is great company. What makes NORESCO unique is their ability to engineer and implement turnkey energy solutions that meet each customer's individual needs. At NORESCO, they pride themselves on the excellent relationships they maintain with their customers.

I have worked here for a while. It is ok. The benefits are mediocre and expensive. No upward mobility. Only get paid more if leave the company and return.

Not the ideal place to work
Human Resources (Former Employee) –  Westborough, MAAugust 8, 2013
Very little work and life balance. Tend to preach about culture and values but seldom practice it. Typical day at work consisted of bullying, belittling and constant discourgagement. There was often lack of teamwork and support when needed. Upper management showed little to no concern on how to make it better.

High technical competency
Sr. Account Executive (Current Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJune 19, 2013
The company is very focused on their sweet spot and has little support outside of that model. This makes it difficult to break into new markets and limits company growth.

Unsupportive management, low pay especially for women
Measurement & Verification Report Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Westborough, MAMarch 14, 2013
I worked for NORESCO for 3 years and left for another position in the marketplace. Management is not supportive and over the past couple of years there has been a practice of laying people off and adding the work load to other employees without any financial reward for this change. This is especially prevalent among women. Most employees are very nice but it is a very quiet environment where working through lunch is expected. Very little camaraderie among employees and more importantly it is not encouraged. Was a much better place in 2010. Think long and hard before you enter into a position here in my opinion. They have lost a ton of good employees over the past year...
Pros
good group of engineers, good location
Cons
poor management, very tough work environment for women

Noresco is a company that works a small company that can do big things
Computer Programmer (Former Employee) –  Westborough, MAMarch 9, 2012
Noresco is a company that works a small company the way each department works together to get the work finished. Noresco is owned by a large corporation which gives they the backing to succeed on large projects. Employees can move between departments to learn different jobs and fill in the gaps when needed. As a result of working between departments employees are better off to help each other out when needed. This type of co-operation between employees and department makes Noresco a pleasant and easy place to work.
