Client Services Director (Former Employee) – Norfolk, VA – December 2, 2016
A work day comprised of 12 hours and consecutive deadlines and non sympathetic leaders. Too much deceit, disloyalty, schemes, and dishonesty in the whole agency.
I learned how to prepare and manage a $2 million budget for my department and how to write reports and budget spreadsheets. Co-workers were unfriendly. The hardest part of the day was getting pass the miserable co-workers.
The most enjoyable part of the job was satisfaction in helping the residents.
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) – Norfolk, VA – May 16, 2016
Each day at work eventful always something new. Learn the value of employee and client relationship is very important in this type of field of work. Management was fair and respectful. My co-workers was the best guys to ever work with. Hardest part of the job is down time.
Some people there should not have chose this as a career
Senior Property (Former Employee) – Norfolk, VA – August 1, 2014
Executive mgmt culture not only not effective but perform business based on emotions and relationships. Demeaning environment not empowering. Vicious political environment. City of Norfolk should be ashamed for allowing this to continue. Not good for the city. These communities are not reaching their full potential. Enjoyed serving residents and the city but not with this organization. Federal oversight needed since these funds come from HUD.
Contracts Manager/Officer (Former Employee) – Norfolk, VA – March 30, 2013
NRHA is a country club and not a state agency. Upper management hires friends and relatives. Employees are let go if another individual doesn not like that person and employees are not reviewed on work performance. No performance evaluations are written on an annual basis. Funds are spent without justification and fosters a fraud, waste, and abuse environment.
