A typical day involved meeting with clients and assessing their situation, providing them with resources and/or calling in referrals to resources. Typing up notes from the visit and completing any court reports that were scheduled for the month. Meeting with the supervisor to go over the court agenda. Staff would all type in one room and there were people coming and going all day. There was a separate area in the room for visiting if staff wanted to chat. Yearly classes were required on policy issues.
The hardest part of the job was to meet report deadlines if there were numerous one in a particular month. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting with people and being able to help them with their problems. At times we would transport the family to facilities.
