An environment that nurtured learning and achievement.
Manager (Former Employee), Minneapolis, MN – May 25, 2012
Pros: opportunity to learn and advance. true community focus.
Cons: nepotism left over from the past. slow adopter of computer technology.
North Memorial demonstrated commitment to the community through its' many outreach program, commitment to employees through the training and advancement opportunities as well as pay, benefits and positive work environment, and commitment to quality through use of advanced technology and science. In the years I worked there the organization was slow – more... to adopt new computer technology. The most significant comment I can make about North Memorial is that, at least during my tenure, I was confident that the organization strove for high ethical standards at all times. – less
RN (Former Employee), Robbinsdale's Minnesota – February 26, 2014
Pros: hospital union
Cons: racism, prejudice, discrimination etc.
I got call for an interview for a nursing's position with their Home Health care. Went for interview and met with Florence Nightingale and her cohort who interviewed me like the devil. Got a call back a week later, was told they were going forward in checking my professional references which took another week after all my references were check.I got – more... another called setting up orientation after my references checked out fine. Two days prior to my orientation,I got a call from one of their managers stating,"Sorry we found a better fit than you". I'm sure if i was white,i wouldn't have been told that. Bunches of racist pigs! – less
I loved working at North Memorial and was able to learn so much in a short period of time. I had very good working relationships with my team members and had several amazing bosses. The hardest part of my job was having so many leadership changes in such a short period of time. I reported to 6 different people within a 12 month period. The most enjoyable – more... part of my job was the flexibility of my position, working with providers, and the values of the organization. – less
