The unique challenges faced by children and teens are different from those of adults. North Star Hospital has four units to address the specific developmental needs of children and adolescents. At North Star, we have a children's unit (age 6-9), a pre-teen unit (age 10-12), an adolescent boys unit (age 13-17), and an adolescent girls unit (age 13-17). Because the needs of children are different from those of pre-teens and teenagers, our programs are structured to meet each youth's skill and understanding level.
