About NORTHCARE
NorthCare distinguishes itself from other local non profit organizations by offering programs designed to meet two important objectives directly tied to our mission. First, each program offered by NorthCare is intended to assist consumers in successful and safe living in a community setting with maximum self-sufficiency. Our Board of Directors and staff – more... believe people feel better and are more productive when able to remain in their own homes. Second, each program is designed to reduce the financial burden of the community by preventing unnecessary institutional care. Our diverse programs collectively decrease child foster care placements, adoption disruptions, pre-mature nursing home admissions, emergency room visits, expensive acute care hospital or jail admissions, jail recidivism, and numerous other institutional placements.
NorthCare is a well managed non profit, charitable organization able to operate and sustain many programs that are accessible to consumers regardless of ability to pay. NorthCare's budget exceeded $25,000,000 in fiscal years 2005, 2006 and 2007. NorthCare provided extensive compensated services each year. Each year the agency exceeds expectations by providing uncompensated services and uncompensated medications. Our medication clinic and pharmacy, a partnership with Red Rock Community Mental Health Center provided over $4.5 million in medications to consumers without charge through it's partnerships with pharmaceutical manufactures.
Our agency measures the effectiveness of each program it operates in a continuous quality improvement process measuring programmatic outcomes and consumer satisfaction. We encourage consumers to participate in a consumer survey each year. The Consumer Survey Report for the past several years indicates NorthCare served between 13,000 and 14,000 children and families maintaining satisfaction rates in the high 90% range. Maintaining effective programs and high standards is important to us.
NorthCare was incorporated in 1980. NorthCare operates under the governance of an un-compensated Board of Directors. The agency employs approximately 300 full and part-time people who provide services in central and western Oklahoma. NorthCare is certified as a community mental health and substance abuse service agency by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The agency is licensed as a Licensed Child Placement Agency by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Most NorthCare programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Providers (CARF). NorthCare is a United Way partner agency in central Oklahoma. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
