It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Northrop Grumman?
Any advice on striking the right note?

I applied for a job with NG and almost immediately the status said "under consideration by recruiter". The following morning it changed to "under consideration by hiring manager". I am wondering what your experience with time frame from applying to interviewing to actually starting the job (if you were one of the lucky ones). Also, what is NG like on interviewing out of state people?

Do you work at Northrop Grumman? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?

What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Northrop Grumman?
What do you like best about working at Northrop Grumman? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

Northrop Grumman is running a background check on me for a position that I accepted. I have a dismissed charge from last year over a petty dispute with a family member. I assume that they will be able to see the dismissed charges, but will this cause my job offer to be revoked? The dismissal went through last August, and it's actually about a month away from being expunged altogether.

Does anyone have experience negotiating starting salary at Northrop Grumman? I received a job offer from them on Monday, but the pay is about 15K less than what I deserve. I countered by email yesterday, and now I'm impatiently waiting for their response. I also have an offer from another company (which is offering more than NG), and they are putting pressure on me to give them a response by mid-next week.
I'm mostly worried because I know how slow this process with NG is. I started the application process with them two months ago.

I recently had some very strange dealings with Northrup Grumman (Xetron) in Cincinnati. They are trying to fill an INFOSEC role that requires a high degree of skill and experience along with the highest clearances to boot.
After several email exchanges and phone conversations with a contract recruiter (not even an NG employee), it became very clear that these guys didn't understand the protocol. They bumbled along and eventually ticked me off to the point where I told them off. Working INFOSEC is spooky enough. At least they should have recruiters that understand the sensitivities.
Anyone else encounter incompetent recruiters at Northrup Grumman?

I'm a fresh graduate from CSUF with a B.S. in Computer Science.
I've been trying to get an interview with NG for about 6 months now, and no luck.
I'm looking in the Los Angeles, orange county, and san diego area. Anybody have advice as to how to get that interview.
Any suggestions would help.

I am former military and am being considered for an overseas position in a hostile area. I was wondering if anyone knows if Northrop Grummon offers 6 month contracts or only annual?

Applied about 2 weeks ago and got a call to set up interview.I asked if we can reschedule to a later date but she said they are only conducting interviews that day. So, I go to their building and the hiring manager comes and gets me and we go to a room with the other managers. They spoke greatly about the position and what I will be doing. They only asked a few questions that were not hard and were the ones who are mainly speaking the whole time. I believe my interview and my answers were great. And at the end of the interview they told me that today was their first day of interviews and that I will be notified within two weeks if i got the job or not. While walking out, the HR representative(did not interview me) gave me a business card that was not hers but was another HR's business card. Also, while i was waiting to go in for an interview there was i believe another candidate who i believe was also interviewing for this position, walked out with the same HR who gave me the card and the HR said to her," well you have my number, call me if you have any questions." After hearing this and the Hiring manager telling me that today was the start of their interviews and that i would be notified in two weeks, I feel like I didn't get the job.
Am I being to naive or nervous? Do you think i didnt get the job based on this? I really want to work at this company and it is a great opportunity. I believe the interview went well but I really dont know how they choose their candidates if all interviews are conducted in this manner.
