Human relation and being the first person of contact where bullets and fights were present has been one of the jobs where fun and challenge mix together.
Managing difficult situations was the main task over all.
Learnt to manage, plan, build strategies, lead, etc.
Waiting was the hardest part of the job.
Lots of fun with the people from around the globe is unforgettable.

At work, I learn how to build air crafts and many other vehicles. My co-workers are friendly. The hardest part of the job was building air crafts. The most enjoyable part of the job was joining together.

Research Engineer V (Current Employee), Aurora, COAugust 2, 2015
Pros: Compensation
Cons: Lack vision in some areas
Interesting work and nice work-life balance, but in some areas a bit behind non-defense industry. Too much strategizing from the past; need more young leadership IMHO.

NG is okay to work for. Their so big, you really don't matter to them. And best of luck getting a raise. Employees who dedicated their life to the company may get 5% each year. Don't expect any upward mobility.

Engineering/Program Manager (Current Employee), Bethpage, NYJuly 31, 2015
Pros: Good people, good work, room to learn and grow
Cons: disconnect between corporate leadership and the general work force
Good company with solid local management. Corporate management is a bit disconnected but has good intentions. The staff is fully engaged despite the survey results. This is part of the overall disconnect. Folks locally know their job and work very well with their customers and coworkers

Engineer III - Support and Sustainment Engineer (Current Employee), Sacramento, CAJuly 30, 2015
Pros: Big Company, competetive benefits
Cons: sometimes poor management and career grown
Many parts of NG are great, but there are others that are not so great. It is hit or miss which one you will end up in. Great for promoting people that are willing to relocate for that promotion, but staying in one place limits career growth.

Material Specialist I (Former Employee), Apopka, FLJuly 25, 2015
Pros: Flexible hours, excellent working conditions, respectable job (pride)
Cons: No security in this job market at this time
30 minute AM meeting each day with manager and co-workers.
Pulled parts needed for kit for manufacturing depending on priority.
Supported co-workers who ran parts (expeditors) for ASAP demand
Assisted in Shipping and Receiving when asked to do so

Learned 3 computer software programs to retrieve work orders from Production Control, conduct cycle counts, inventory and time charging for each program. Also learned that the care and handling of every part no matter how small made a difference in the success of the equipment for the soldier in the field

Management very knowledgeable and always present for support.

Diversity very important at this company. Everyone mostly got along. Each one contributed successfully in their own way and with their own abilities and talents.

Due to sequestration and military budget cuts, the company had several reductions in force. The hardest part was facing the possibility of layoff on a daily basis.

Most enjoyable part of the job was knowing I was a valuable part of supporting and protecting our troops by the products we manufactured.

Electronics Technician (Former Employee), Linthicum, MDJuly 23, 2015
Pros: Very good working conditions. Pleasant atmosphere. Good management.
Cons: None.
Tested and troubleshot selected portions of a given system. Used computer assisted testing performed on test consoles. Required equipment was multi-meters, analyzers, signal generators, power meters etc. Occasionally, soldering and de-soldering of small parts was necessary to aid in troubleshooting. Proper data sheets were generated showing the test results for the military. All processes were under very strict oversight of military representatives. This division of Northrop Grumman is an excellent place to work. There are many opportunities for advancement.

Decent place to work if you get on the right Program.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Huntsville, ALJuly 21, 2015
Pros: Compensation
Cons: Benefits
The management and co-workers all depends on what program you are assigned. The last program I worked on here, I had the best manager that REALLY cared about his employees before he was laid off. The co-workers really got along and were very helpful to each other. The compensation is competitive but the benefits were lacking. The rating would not let me give anything but 5 stars so I chose not to rate it at all.
