My final days, prior to retirement, were very rewarding. I was involved in a special project regarding the B-2, Stealth Bomber. Long hours with the team resulted in resolving the issue.
Over the 21 years with the company, I learned that emotions have no place in the aircraft industry. Emotions are a self-destruct button that extinguishes motivation, discussion and resolution.
I had numerous managers who were, for the most part, helpful and practiced good management techniques.
The co-workers participated in group/team settings to assist in problem resolution.
The challenges were getting used to the different management styles; as manager turn-over was a constant issue.
The best times always involved doing projects with the teams.
