Under the guidance of Spokane,s two hospital systems, Providence Health Care and Empire Health Services, INHS has become the hub of collaborative health care programs in our area. The wide array of services offered under the INHS umbrella complement the services provided by area hospitals and improve both the quantity and quality of health care options available to the community. These services include:

Community Health Education and Resources (CHER), which coordinates valuable health screenings, offers a wide variety of health education programs and runs summer camp designed specifically for children with diabetes;
Northwest MedVan, a free service used by patients needing rides to and from appointments throughout Spokane;
Northwest MedStar, the region,s critical care air transportation service;
Information Resource Management (IRM), the technology division of INHS dedicated to providing integrated computer and information systems to the region,s health care community;
Northwest Telehealth, a telemedicine network that allows patients in need of specialized treatment to access this type of care from a distant location;
St. Luke,s Rehabilitation Institute, the region,s largest hospital dedicated solely to physical rehabilitation offering a variety of programs including spinal cord injury, pediatric services, sports and orthopedic therapy, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

St. Luke,s treated more than 60,000 patients in 2002. Many more were served by other INHS companies.

Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and in these 10 years, we have made great strides. Our organization has been lauded locally and nationally for its collaborative structure and innovative solutions to health care problems, but achieving our goals and meeting the needs of the community is not an easy task.

Faced with continually increasing costs, ever-declining reimbursement rates and a need to develop additional and enhanced services, INHS recently formed its own foundation. The Foundation,s role is to find community resources that will enable INHS to achieve its goals and continually improve the quality of health care in our region. Money raised through the Foundation will be used in a myriad of ways.

In 2004, our primary focus is to establish a solid endowment that will ensure the long-term viability of our organization. Funds raised for facility enhancements at St. Luke,s will improve treatment areas for patient therapy and will make the hospital more patient and family friendly. Upgraded and new equipment is needed to provide the most comprehensive and effective therapy programs. Funding for research projects will advance patient care, while attracting top-notch physicians and enhancing Spokane,s image as a major medical community. Program support funds will enable INHS to expand its community outreach programs and make a larger impact on the overall health of our community.

Contributors to the INHS Foundation can be assured they are supporting an innovative and collaborative endeavors designed to improve the health of the region. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
