NWHS Pharmacy is seeking a WA licensed pharmacist who is interested in long term care and growing the compounding pharmacy program.
Must have a fundamental understanding of USP 795 and USP 797
Self motivated to market and promote the program locally
Ability to multitask and work as a LTC staff pharmacist in addition to compounding
This individual must be a team player. Pharmacist work closely as a team with other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A professional appearance is required.
This individual must be able to work with minimum supervision,
Perform a wide variety of tasks.
Communicate well with clients (on phone and in person) and staff.
Understand the importance of customer service.
Computer skills required: Microsoft programs, Outlook and Word.
- Washington State Pharmacy License. Other state licenses are a plus

1.The Pharmacist is regularly required to stand, sit as well as converse and listen
2.The employee is required to use hand to operate vehicles and office equipment
3.Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
4.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
1.Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates and to delegate appropriately
2.Pharmacy Degree and State License
3.Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations
4. Prior experience compounding sterile and non-sterile products
Responsibilities of the Compounding Pharmacist include the following:
1.Process, fill and dispense prescriptions
2.Provide pharmacy services to client/patients of the Company
3.Ensure that pharmaceuticals are accurately packaged and dispensed in accordance with pharmacy protocols and physicians orders
4.Resolve pharmacy client/patient concerns and complaints, provide pharmacy client/patient counseling as needed
5.Conduct patient profile monitoring as necessary
6.Communicate with medical professionals with regard to client/patient status and response to medication, and when necessary to resolve client/patient issues
7.Interact with pharmaceutical manufacturer’s representatives as needed to maintain current knowledge of pharmaceutical products and to manage changes to formulary
8.Oversee pharmaceutical recalls
9.Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company guidelines
10.Report product incidents as required in accordance with Company policy
11.Supervise the activities of pharmacy technicians and other department personnel
12.Work closely with Inventory Manager regarding Packaging Technician training
13.Work closely with marketing team to provide feedback and assistance regarding customer relations
14.Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
15.Participate in the Company committees when requested
16.Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities
17.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of pharmacy
18.Required to report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a client/patient
19. Ensure compounding program is USP 795 and 797 compliant
20. Manage compounding software and formulations
21. Ensure maintenance, sanitation and organization of clean room and related equipment according to policies and procedures
This position is 40 hrs per week Mon-Fri. Hours vary by shift
