NMC has also established collaborative relationships with our tertiary care center, Fletcher Allen Health Care, to bring specialty services to NMC's campus. Kidney Dialysis, Oncology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and other services are available on site so the people of our community don't have to leave our area for their care. Our Nursing Staff provides personal care, education, and support for patients throughout NMC. They work with our physicians and the rest of the NMC staff to continually improve how we care for our patients.
The Family Birth Center provides expectant parents with personalized birth experiences. We offer the full resources of a hospital and many of the comforts of home.
There is always a physician on duty in our Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For patients who require immediate attention but who do not have true emergencies, NMC offers an Intermediate Care Service from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays, and 10 am to 10 pm on weekends and holidays to accommodate the higher volume of non-emergent visits during those times. Charges for Intermediate Care are identical to Emergency Department charges, however, patient waiting time should be less as Intermediate Care patients will not have to wait for emergent care necessary for higher priority patients in the Emergency Department.
The NMC Cancer Center provides a wide range of specialized services for people with cancer and their families, including detection, diagnosis, education, surgical intervention, access to Oncology care, on-campus chemotherapy, rehabilitation services, financial assistance, individualized case management, and more. This program, approved by the American College of Surgeons, is specifically designed to prevent patients from having to leave our community for their care.
Our Diagnostic Imaging Department includes CT-Scan, X-ray, and ultrasound. Our Breast Imaging Center features mammography and stereotactic biopsies.
Our Surgical Services Department offers expertise in general surgery, orthopedics, urology, podiatry, opthalmology, and gynecology. We are equipped for a comprehensive range of surgeries, including total joint replacement, lumpectomies, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and arthroscopic surgery.
