Student Clinician (Former Employee), Fort Lauderdale, FLNovember 8, 2012
Pros: flexibility for a busy schedule
Cons: professors and materials are not easily tangable
My experience at Nova Southeastern was an incredible one. I enjoyed the ease of online learning that complemented my busy schedule. For the most part you had access to all the necessary amenities that the school offered that pertained to academics such as an online library with a wealth of resources, help desk for navigating through the system sufficiently – more... and access to professors via email when necessary. I also enjoyed meeting people from various parts of the world. I believe the hardest part of completing a degree online is the immediate access to professors and certain materials when needed and not having face to face interaction for learning certain subject matters. – less

I loved my time at Nova. Although some students could care less about learning, most of the students were ambitious and intelligent. I would return there in a heartbeat.

Nothing major really, you don't get bothered. You do your assignments, you get your timesheet signed. Nothing major unless of course you mess up and management catches it and have to fix it, then it's a notice.

NSU
Administrative Coordinator (Current Employee), Davie, FLJuly 17, 2012
Pros: easy tasks, 80% tuition coverage
Cons: no growth, mediocre management, low pay, expensive benefits
A typical day at Nova Southeastern University is just like any other office day job. A lot of paperwork, computers and emails. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing exciting. There are many difference departments and every supervisor and department has its own rules. There is a lot of turnover because management is usually a professional person such – more... as a doctor or professor who have never been trained to be a business manager or supervisor. There are many HR issues. NSU is fairly flexible when it comes to working hours although the pay is VERY low and there is a HUGE gap between what exempt employees make and non-exempt. I've done research and other universities pay more. – less
