Typical Big Pharma
Senior Xolair Specialist (Former Employee), South Texas, Houston, DallasMay 6, 2015
The compensation and benefits at Novartis were excellent. I honestly have never worked for a company that is its equal. However, with great compensation, comes big pharma management. Job security is never there.

Novartis had great classroom education to help understand the products up from the cellular level to the bigger competitive landscape.
MD Online vRep on behalf of Novartis (Former Employee), Parsippany, NJApril 13, 2015
Pros: Novartis embraced new technology to allow us to detail over iPads.
Cons: The program was cut short due to the medications going generic.
We were given the tools to competitively sell via a consultative approach by putting the prescriber, patient or disease state first. In this way we could learn and understand the needs and concerns to empathize or in another aspect to understand the challenges faced to be able to address all needs if practical.

Great for making money, but no future
Production Operator (Former Employee), Suffern, NYMarch 27, 2015
Pros: Tons of overtime and great overnight comradery.
Cons: Day and evening shifts did not work
After working with company for about 1 year and a half, the company decided to close its facility. I worked overnight and most of the production occurred then, when you would think that most would be done in the morning shifts when there is the most supervision. But not at all. The day and evening shifts were poorly managed and lacked much production and kinda made you think what was going on throughout the day. Day workers enjoyed prolonged breaks and taking part in meetings, which they rarely discussed anything of substance. After meetings workers would take the "day off" or come back to designated work areas unmotivated to work. This is what pretty much lead to the company's downfall. Company should have invested into a younger more vibrant employee base and got rid of individuals that have been there for years and have gotten used to making maximum salaries and being bitter about not making more, but working less.

Managing Director/Regional Director of Sales (Former Employee), East Hanover, NJMarch 4, 2015
NPC has evolved from a traditional pharma company to a more progressive and streamlined organization through restructures and downsizes. While the business plan is solid, the culture and employee job satisfaction has suffered.
