Was the epitome of a great company
Senior Endocronology Speciality Rep (Current Employee) –  Irvine, CAMarch 30, 2017
The company is going thru a tough time. Hope it will change. It is not different from any other pharma company in today's standards. It was once special. I can't say that anymore.
Pros
Great perks
Cons
a lot of those perks are gone!

Good company, hard future
Biopharmaceutical Sales Intern (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJMarch 24, 2017
This company has great benefits, an easy work life balance, but has difficulty with outlook. The company focuses on one therapeutic area (insulin), and has started a price war. This leads to great instability, especially when leadership from Europe is sent over to manage US market access challenges.

Good company that treats people well and really tries to practice what they preach in terms of culture and work/life balance. Very open and blame-free environment.

District Business Manager (Former Employee) –  Cleveland, OHMarch 22, 2017
Management is running this company to the ground. Hostile working environment and crazy demands in order to increase bottom line and satisfy share holders. Do not care about employees as they use to

Of all of the companies in which I have worked, I was least impressed with Novo.
The company was ok, but my manager was not. I left for a much better opportunity.

Not the same company
Manager (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJFebruary 21, 2017
The company has lost its Novo Nordisk way. Nepotism is still alive and the pipeline is not strong. Their unwillingness to lower the prices is hurting the business and their competitors are clearly moving ahead. The layoffs are starting to become a regular norm. Its not worth having a high pay knowing that the company is going downhill.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Layoffs and a bad future.

Sterilization Technician (Current Employee) –  Clayton, NCFebruary 19, 2017
I work third shift. Love my coworkers, but they have a large turnover of employees. Pay is low for a third shift job. I enjoy the work, but I am very dissatisfied with the pay.
Pros
Enjoy the cafeteria and the fruit they provide for the employees
Cons
Salary too low

Overall Good Company
Associate Manager (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJFebruary 16, 2017
Overall, Novo Nordisk is a good company. They have great benefits including medical and dental with good vacation time. It does a lot of good work in the community and encourages its employees to volunteer time. They also are a great support for patients with diabetes and hemophilia.

It's going through some changes right now that it has never experienced before and the management doesn't know how to handle it. Eventually, it will get everything straightened out and be back in order.

Productive place to work and learn if given the opportunity
CRA (In-House) - (Diabetes) (Former Employee) –  Princeton, NJFebruary 10, 2017
This was a productive place to work where you are able learn, if given the chance to do so. Management can be very difficult and not in tune of what individuals really need to push their career forward. There is favortism and only these that are favared move forward. Management is not in touch and doesn't really care. The culture was okay, but no one really talked to each other because there was never really anytime to do so. There was so much work plied onto each individual that no one had to time to get to know each....which made the atmosphere really weird and difficult to work in.

Professional (Current Employee) –  Clayton, NCJanuary 3, 2017
Novo Nordisk embraces the Novo Nordisk way which embraces such things as striving for simplicity, uncompromising quality, and respect for our stakeholders and each other. That culture is hard to beat because everyone has an active part in maintaining
The company has median pay, but outstanding benefits with flexible hours in many positions.
There are multiple levels of management and not always enough help, but that was not a personal pain - just an observed one in manufacturing. Overall it has been a worthwhile experience.
Pros
Heath care, annual bonus, great 401k
