Not the same company
Manager (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJFebruary 21, 2017
The company has lost its Novo Nordisk way. Nepotism is still alive and the pipeline is not strong. Their unwillingness to lower the prices is hurting the business and their competitors are clearly moving ahead. The layoffs are starting to become a regular norm. Its not worth having a high pay knowing that the company is going downhill.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Layoffs and a bad future.

Fun workplace but poor salary
Sterilization Technician (Current Employee) –  Clayton, NCFebruary 19, 2017
I work third shift. Love my coworkers, but they have a large turnover of employees. Pay is low for a third shift job. I enjoy the work, but I am very dissatisfied with the pay.
Pros
Enjoy the cafeteria and the fruit they provide for the employees
Cons
Salary too low

Overall Good Company
Associate Manager (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJFebruary 16, 2017
Overall, Novo Nordisk is a good company. They have great benefits including medical and dental with good vacation time. It does a lot of good work in the community and encourages its employees to volunteer time. They also are a great support for patients with diabetes and hemophilia.

It's going through some changes right now that it has never experienced before and the management doesn't know how to handle it. Eventually, it will get everything straightened out and be back in order.

Productive place to work and learn if given the opportunity
CRA (In-House) - (Diabetes) (Former Employee) –  Princeton, NJFebruary 10, 2017
This was a productive place to work where you are able learn, if given the chance to do so. Management can be very difficult and not in tune of what individuals really need to push their career forward. There is favortism and only these that are favared move forward. Management is not in touch and doesn't really care. The culture was okay, but no one really talked to each other because there was never really anytime to do so. There was so much work plied onto each individual that no one had to time to get to know each....which made the atmosphere really weird and difficult to work in.

The company released 240 employees October 2016 without warning. The company is in chaos. People there are working three jobs and there is no strategic direction.

The company has median pay, but outstanding benefits with flexible hours in many positions.
There are multiple levels of management and not always enough help, but that was not a personal pain - just an observed one in manufacturing. Overall it has been a worthwhile experience.

Long hours on your feet all day
Technician (Current Employee) –  Clayton, NCDecember 27, 2016
In production, the shifts are 12 hours, 12 long hours on your feet pretty much the whole time in uncomfortable steel toe shoes. It's loud and many hands are involved in each process so you're constantly yelling to everyone asking about various steps in the process and troubleshooting. When something goes wrong, the blame game begins between employees. The company has good benefits and work/life balance is good because you work long days so you have more days off. There's not alot of room to move up, you'll end up just moving around to other production areas. You have three levels of management you answer to and monthly reviews where they constantly rate you. Rarely recognized for your hard work.
