Not a great place to work
Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Greenville, SCJanuary 3, 2018
I'm not sure how much the salaried people like working there, but the people that are hourly don't like working there as much. People get fired very easily there so there is zero job security at Nutra. It is not for the faint of heart.

Office Personnel (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCDecember 11, 2017
Nutra Manufacturing is a good place to work if you don't mind long hours, hard work and you are not hoping to advance in your career. The pay is generally moderate. The company doesn't appreciate or recognize their employee talent base. People are often passed over for promotion due to nepotism. The management has been known to lie to the employees about available advancement. Often employees are required to perform others job responsibilities in addition to their own without any additional monetary compensation. The managers are not empowered by the upper level management to correct issues as needed. There are multiple poor managers which makes accomplishing everyday tasks quite difficult on a regular basis. As a general rule the employees I have worked with are good people but there are very few good managers. If you want a manufacturing or packaging job which will net you a good paycheck, I would recommend Nutra. However, if you are in an office position I would not recommend this company.
Pros
Decent pay rates. Above average paid time off. Decent benefits.
Cons
Very Poor management for office personnel.

Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Greenville, SCDecember 5, 2017
I was in charge of the material handler position, getting drums up stairs to make product and keep production going. In charge of ordering materials to make sure we had everything we needed.

HR Recruiter (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCNovember 12, 2017
Currently there as a contractor and it's a great place. Good Director, fast paced but family atmosphere. Have nothing negative to say about the company. Very glad to be given the opportunity to be there.

Inspector/Packer (Former Employee) –  Anderson, SCJune 25, 2017
Temporary job, I enjoyed working on the assembly line. The hardest part was dealing with favoritism of the people that have been there longer as a temp. it was hard. Enjoyable part was meeting new people that were friendly.

Operator (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCMay 23, 2017
If you are just out of high school and want to build experience to move on to a better, higher paying job then this is one of those places. It is made clear upfront that you are replaceable and they would rather bring someone in for less money anyway.
Pros
It's a job and it is pretty stable
Cons
Culture and Wages

PROCUREMENT, PACKAGING AND OUTSOURCING MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Greenville, SCMay 22, 2017
I liked the other managers and people. Goals shifted often with little data to explain the changes. Little to no chance of advancement. Lack of foundational processes and GMP.

Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Anderson, SCApril 25, 2017
two 15 min. breaks. one 20 min, lunch break, standing 10 hrs. a day very rigid work environment. Supervision at the time I worked there was not very approachable. They did not treat the hard workers any different than the workers that did not want to do their jobs. Moral was very low.

short breaks

Maintenance Technician II (Current Employee) –  Anderson, SCApril 12, 2017
Nutra (owned by GNC) has some serious problems with their business model and management. The company appears to be trying to overcome recent catastrophic losses by turning over upper and middle management.
Pros
low expectations
Cons
Management (or mismanagement) makes for low job security

Accounts Payable Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCFebruary 2, 2017
Departments do not work together to solve issues which makes paying invoices very difficult. Day to day process is typical accounts payable, but when problems arise with a receiving issue or a purchasing issue, no one in those departments are willing to work to help resolve the issue.
Pros
Scheduled hours are nice
Cons
stess due to departments not working with each other

Unit Pick (Former Employee) –  Anderson, SCDecember 13, 2016
There is no management. The pay is lousy. They don't care about work/family balance. All they care about is getting orders out. The call mandatory 12 hour shifts at the last minute. You never know what time you will get off until you get there. It's too physical to pay so little.
Pros
it's a job
Cons
low pay, very unprofessional HR and management
