Lead Technical Writer (Former Employee) – Miamisburg, OH – February 4, 2015
For the most part, I enjoyed my experiences here although the work could be challenging at times. A typical work day was all about writing, proofreading and editing documentation for technical manuals. It was a good learning expereince, especially the knowledge and expereince you gained in technical writing using differnt tools such as SGML, XML, Framemaker and S1000D business rules. My co-workers were friendly but kept to themselves most of the time. The hardest part of this job was meeting customer requirements as each project had its own unique style and format for publication. So, once you bacame comfortable on documentation format you then had to switch and learn an entirely different format. The learning curve could be steep on some projects. The most enjoyable part of this job was gratification of seeing the finished product and satisfying the customer requriements.
Good people, employee-owned company so you shared in the profits.
Always afraid of potential layoffs due to contractual nature of business.
