The Engineering Analyst is responsible for applying theories and principles of engineering in order to solve problems related to microwave propagation. Duties include performing link analysis, improving and maintaining simulation models, and supporting Systems Engineers with microwave link design. The main goal is to improve link performance predictions and establish requirements for various microwave links.
The Engineering Analyst also helps in evaluating microwave link performance and writing reports in order to support proposal effort. He assists in selecting and defining products for the purpose of meeting specific link requirements. The Engineering Analyst needs to provide economical solutions for engineering design problems and must deliver precise and practical solutions in order to meet the design needs.
Engineering Analyst Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities that are to be fulfilled by an Engineering Analyst are as follows:
Recommend and implement modifications and improvements to existing simulation models
Achieve the best possible design from the available equipment while performing analyses
Determine and enter link specific inputs into the computer simulation for the purpose of analysis, and use the analysis to prepare reports, summaries, graphs, and charts
Analyze link performance data in order to find the best and most economical solution
Design new microwave links, as well as defining required equipment
Apply procedures to control statistical quality
Select equipment for the purpose of meeting specified link performance criteria in the most economical way
Determine the performance characteristics of products to be used in simulation models
Assist Marketing personnel in proposal efforts by predicting proposed link performance and recommending equipment to meet the specified performance
The skills and specifications required for a candidate in order to work in the position of an Engineering Analyst are as follows:
- Deep understanding of microwave propagation theory
- Good telecom hardware knowledge
- Must have the ability to prepare white papers, performance
reports, graphs, and charts for technical and non-technical
personnel and customers
- Needs to have excellent communications skills
- Understanding of software programming and testing principles
Minimum of an MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Simulation and programming experience is desired.
