IT Professional (Former Employee), Foothills – February 25, 2013
Pros: sorry - none
Cons: get some professionals
I work in IT and have for a long time observed the job postings. I assume the department to have a very high fluctuation rate. I once had a job interview with them and would have declined the offer.
Data Entry Clerk (Former Employee), Foothill Ranch, CA – January 1, 2013
Pros: relaxed, benefits, holiday pay
Cons: job security
this is a great company to work out but your job is never safe here there is alot of cuts that are made. other than that this a relaxed job not too much pressure co workers are really cool. lots of room for advancement if your there for a while.
Great place to work if you're not concerned with advancement or wage compensation.
Security Officer (Former Employee), Foothill Ranch, CA – December 18, 2012
Pros: great discount for employees on products made by oakley.
Cons: sometimes no time for breaks. low raises, while company hitting record profit numbers.
A typical day at work was stressful, management pushing you to complete tasks while being under staffed. As a Security Officer you get your share of grief from Employees getting ID checked or bag/pocket checked. On top of that not having the backing from your management team, because of their personal or career interests.I learned that anyone is expendable, – more... and you have to know when to voice your opinion. Had great co-workers, but like everywhere there is always gonna be slackers/favorites. The hardest part of the job is holding your breathe when you're put in a position to do so and being allowed to. The best part of the job is making long lasting friends, and knowing that i gave the company everything I had. – less

Assistant Store Manager (Current Employee), Florida – November 28, 2012
Pros: great discounts!! fun environment and people
Cons: higher levels of management seem to play favorites
The company as a whole is great! Product is fantastic and what the company stands for and represents is also great. However, it's all about who you know if you want to move up. The company says they encourage promotion from within however it seems to be just through the ladder of the store. It is a very hard company to work for corporate. Best of luck.

Pros: everything
Cons: didint fit with my school scdual
Oakley was amazing, long lunch breaks, very fun and challenging work. amazing people, get to meet sports super stars once in a while, great gym, very free and easygoing work place.
sales rep (Former Employee), south district/ south tx – August 27, 2012
Cons: low pay, no recognition, no opportunity for advancement, irregular hours, rude management and employees
POOR management. you are not recognized or rewarded for the work you do. the culture is poor, with low work ethics and HORRIBLE HR department that does nothing for internal theft claims, personal harassment, or inappropriate physical contact.
the entire time working, you are taught about the wonderful cultures and "best product on the market" Oakley – more... has to offer, you watch videos of people telling about their love for the job and the company, but the experience you are given is completely the opposite and the ability to attain higher positions is not available. numerous stores have a discriminant attitude when hiring and judge judge judge everyone who steps foot in the store, if hiring officials don't like your appearance or "type" they will toss your application without review.
this company has a culture of people who are interested in their own affairs and own bettering.
I, and many others I've known working for Oakley have had extremely similar experiences throughout numerous store locations.
If you want a job that gives you a sense of self accomplishment, opportunities to advance, acknowledgement for work and effort, and gives you a voice for your opinion with ears to listen, then keep looking, Oakley is NOT for you. – less

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Oak Brook, IL – August 14, 2012
The staff and atmosphere are laid back and positive. Product pretty much sells itself due to its quality. The compensation is typically in products. Many inner promotions for associates with products and awards.
A typical day at Oakley included selling items to others and enjoying the day with the other co-workers. The hardest part about the job was when it got crowded having to remember all the different items and put in computer to ring up. The most enjoyable part was doing your best job in serving others, bringing a smile to their face, and selling some – more... really cool sunglasses. The management there was an awesome experience to work with.! – less
