About OASIS Hospital

Oasis Hospital is located in the quieter, more traditional city of Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates, an easy 90 min drive from the cosmopolitan cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Oasis Hospital is unique: It was established in 1960 by an American doctor couple, the Kennedys, who were invited by the then ruler, to come and work in this area. The hospital – more... now has a long and established reputation of quality obstetric care as well as a relationship of trust with the rulers of the land. Oasis is a non-profit hospital run under the auspices of the American charity, CURE International (

The Hospital's mission statement has been and still is: To provide an international standard of quality healthcare and services to the communities we serve by representing the compassion and love of Jesus Christ.

Oasis Hospital has two official languages, English and Arabic and provides lessons in both languages for its staff who come (literally) from all over the world including countries such as the Philippines, India, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Jordan, Egypt as well as from Australasia, Europe and North America. Oasis Hospital is a 45-bed hospital with 3,000 deliveries per year. The Ob/Gyn department is the busiest department although there is also a 10-bed SCBU, a general and urological surgical service and a medical service with urgent care clinics. With the sustained increase in patient numbers, plans now are in progress to build a new larger hospital adjacent to the present one.

Plans are also in progress to develop an Ob/Gyn training 'residency' program and a midwifery/nursing training program. We are in urgent need of committed Ob/Gyn and Paediatric specialists and consultants, along with midwives, nurses and all the other personnel listed below, who would be willing to work with us in this extremely challenging environment, to extend our Ob/Gyn and Paediatric services while at the same time developing our training and research programs.

Licensing is a major issue here in the UAE and there is a process to be worked through which although not difficult can be time consuming! If you are interested in pursuing the possibility of joining us here, please send a copy of your CV to Ms Lamis Abdo, the HR Director at the address below. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
