Occidental participated in American Corporate Partner's "Give Them 20" challenge, which asked participants to salute U.S. troops by completing 20 push-ups or other activity, and challenging family, friends and colleagues to do the same. Occidental's event took place at Minute Maid Park on Friday, June 19, 2015.
Approximately 80 cyclists sponsored by Occidental Petroleum have raised more than $159,000 this year to fight multiple sclerosis, thanks to the generosity of employees and other supporters.
The fundraising is part of the BP MS 150, an annual 150-mile bike ride from Houston to Austin to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Since 2002, TeamOxy has raised more than $1 million, and this year's record fundraising helped qualify for the National MS Society Circle of Distinction/Hall of Champions. Team Oxy is also currently in the top 20 fundraising teams for the 2017 ride.
The 2017 TeamOxy included 77 active riders from Oil & Gas, Corporate, OxyChem, Centurion, OEMI and their family and friends. The team also had three virtual riders from our Colombia, Abu Dhabi and Oman offices.
