More oppurtunities for advancement and better pay especially for us employees who have worked in retail for most of our adult life.. And better hours or at least full time positions for cashiers. I do just about everything for employees who dont want to work so why shouldnt i at least be advanced to a ft position i had to get a 2nd job just to be able to provide for my family.. I love my job just not that im still only being scheduled under 20hours a week with all my experience and good surveys my customers give me and i sign up usually the most rewards then anyone in our store.. Just really disappointed in the lack of advancements..
Pay people what they're worth, get rid of favoritism and corruption. Have real start and finish times.(1170)
The PAY is your problem as well as always forcing duties to be done IN A TIMELY MANNER. Always so concerned about HOURS," YOUR OVER THE ALLOTTED TIME". How do you expect a store to be in the green, when you can't schedule enough people to work freight. Every minute you have to stop what you're doing and climb back down the ladder to help someone. You need to have a crew that restocks at night and one crew just for customer service. Having a crew that has to do both is not sufficient and customers won't find what they need because you won't allow the store to work like that.
I love working for Office Depot/Office Max. But they only hire part time. I need full time. Or at least 2 part time jobs to survive. Make the starting wage more and hire more full time people.
They need to actually learn to appreciate their employees instead of treating them like numbers on a spreadsheet.
I quit for school, but often I was able to work on school on the side in my free time. If officemax/office depot hires a student, I would check in on their progress in school. If they are doing well, or if they have exams coming up. You don't have to act on anything, if they need schedule adjustments they'll do it themselves. Simply being involved in a team member's life will provide positive adjustment towards their work attitude.
