Can anyone confirm if there are layoffs planned?

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does OfficeMax stack up against the competition?

Was wondering will office max work with me on another job? What if it is one of there competitors? And if they won't, do they offer full time? I would like to work at Office Max, but I don't live with family or anything, I live in my own place which means I have things like rent and groceries to take care of, which means I have to work at least 40 hours a week whether it be between one job or two. Thanks.

I know 2 people that work there. Even though it's advertising, they say they aren't hiring. There's low turn-over rates, good working environment, observes holidays... just overall good business. The OfficeMax in Fort Dodge, IA has been here several years with no threat of closing. I see it as financially secure (correct me if I'm wrong). Just the opinion of a customer and a friend of 2 employees.

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at OfficeMax? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at OfficeMax?

Do you work at OfficeMax? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in?

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at OfficeMax? Any advice on striking the right note?
