The Billing Specialist under general supervision, processes specific program contract payables and allocate charges to the appropriate budgets as well as, performs related duties as assigned. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Runs the outstanding unpaid services report at least monthly, performs follow-up on these services to ensure payment is received, post payments within one week of receipt, follows-up on any payment rejections or partial payments and resolves discrepancies, reconciles monthly payment detail reports to payment and resolves any discrepancies.
- High School Diploma or GED required preferred Associate degree or certificate in medical billing or insurance
- General knowledge of overall billing process and basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices is required. Must have at least one year experience with EDI and ERA posting and be familiar with Medicaid (local and state preferred) and Medicare billing.
