Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) was organized for the purpose of supplying power to its member distribution cooperatives to serve their customers. Through the Company’s member distribution cooperatives, it served more than 582,000 retail electric consumers (meters), representing a total population of approximately 1.4 million people in 2008. The Company provides this power pursuant to long-term, all-requirements wholesale power contracts. It supplies its member distribution cooperatives’ power requirements, consisting of capacity requirements and energy requirements, through a portfolio of resources, including generating facilities, power purchase contracts, and forward, short-term and spot market energy purchases.
