Pros: health benefits, decent pay, routes to progress up
Cons: terrible co-workers, a lot of politics, hot and dangerous work
Tough job, hot and dangerous. I handled raw annealed glass on the line, I also worked the furnace a number of times. The work environment and some of the co-workers were the most intolerable aspect of the job. But, the compensation was great, monthly safety bonuses and there were a number of avenues to pursue to move through departments for better pay. Health benefits were the best aspect of the job.
