Summary:

The Product Manager will work directly with the Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams globally to reinforce the Omega brand, and be the interactive product visionary that champions customer experience and needs. This person will identify opportunities for revenue and profit growth in his or her area of responsibility and work cross-functionally across the organization to effectively execute on those opportunities.

Position Outcomes: To perform the job successfully, and individual must accomplish the following position objectives:

  • Develops and executes strategic product and market plans that substantially improve overall business performance
  • Key participant in the development of annual business plans and the achievement of the associated business goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Apply analytical and creative abilities to define product vision and innovative solutions that exceed user expectations
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to grow revenue and profit in area of responsibility through new third party vendors / products, new product development, market expansion, technology infusion, and acquisition
  • Manage product lifecycles to optimize revenue growth and profitability while simultaneously maximizing customer retention
  • Be a key contributor to new product specification, development, build, and launch activities
  • Champion the needs of business teams and stakeholders throughout the new product development process, ensuring that what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives of the project
  • Provide market analysis, product roadmaps, market requirements documents, business cases, channel strategies, and sales enablement tools that support entire product lifecycles
  • Work closely with Marketing at all Omega sites to generate outbound messaging that will guide the development of marketing collateral, advertising, white papers, presentations, and demo materials
  • Effectively manage global pricing in area of responsibility in a way that supports maximum total margin dollars growth
  • Formulate and measure product analytics to ensure on-going area of responsibility performance
  • Work effectively with the entire Omega Product Management team to ensure that as a team, the highest priority business performance opportunities are handled effectively
  • Be a dedicated internal and external evangelist of products
  • Constantly strive for continuous improvement in product management capabilities and company contribution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience within the instrumentation, process control, & industrial automation markets
  • Proven track record as a product leader with the ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively and insightfully identify market opportunities from raw data or from marketing/sales relationships
  • Experience guiding successful product life cycle processes including highly structured new product development processes
  • Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business needs
  • Demonstrated success in launching industrial products in multiple world areas, and in creating product bundling and channel strategies
  • Highly developed analytical skills

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum five years’ experience executing product strategies and plans that create sustainable competitive advantages
