Charge RN, Melbourne, FL - June 24, 2016
I was very passionate about this type of nursing. As a charge nurse I personally was involved with preparing the chemotherapy( mixing) we did not have a pharmacist the nurses did this. I worked with Hospice for placement and coordination of patients. Pain management. My role was charge so your duties are far and wide, my co-workers directly where other nurses who I trained or delegated to, we worked mostly as one unit, because in a infusion room you need eyes everywhere. The hardest part of the job was death of a patient and the other patients who became close to that patient. In this type of nursing you see your patient daily sometimes for years. I enjoyed the bond with the patient and families.
