Assist with the coordination of logistics operations including but not limited to transportation, warehousing, and transfer operations, providing efficient and effective logistics operations services in support of current business, as well as future business development.
Coordinate and perform processes required to maintain an efficient and effective supply chain.
Assist in utilizing selected motor carriers and third party service providers to maximize service and minimize cost, consistent with customer and business requirements.
Oversee freight payment process. Work within the designed systems to ensure all required information is up to date. Work with accounts payable and freight carriers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Responsible for transportation master data required with the use of SAP and any/all transportation management systems. Work with Logistics Managers and Customer Service team to facility required data for the processing of customer orders and internal purchase orders.
Assist with the processing of all required data/information for monthly and quarterly financial processes.
Coordinate, with carriers and operations groups, the handling and processing of all customer complaints related to carrier and third party operations, to include root cause and implementation of corrective action.
Analyze logistics operation as assigned.
Regular interaction with sales, customer service and plant operations personnel on motor carrier, warehouse and terminal matters.
Other duties as assigned.
BS Degree in Business Administration, with emphasis on Logistics, preferred. Equivalent experience, minimum 3 years, and knowledge of North American motor carrier industry, considered. Excellent communication skills and ability to develop rapport with customers and carrier vendors. Good computer skills required with demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and SAP systems.
