Ooyala was a fantastic place to learn and grow.
Their bar for entry was extraordinary, especially with three founders from Stanford. The SJSU CEO evened out the upitiness. :)
Amazing talent was attracted to Ooyala, especially engineers. Culture originally was very agile but as company grew it became less so, as is expected. Typically lost talent because the amazing players went and started their own companies, which is super cool and a good reason to lose folks.
Company was so successful Telstra, Australia purchased them. It was a win for lots of folks al around. Ooyala has changed a bit but their products are still evolving and highly visible and valued in the video streaming industry.
