Opportunity Charter School is seeking an Administrative Assistant to the Principal.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to work independently within the framework of assigned projects and possesses the ability to maintain confidential information with a high level of sensitivity and discretion.

A high level of proficiency with software including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is required, as is the ability to operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment (fax, copier, etc.).

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Maintain accurate and timely communication between the Principal and the CEO, Board of Trustees, staff, parents, and students; Create and maintain organizational system for documents coming into and leaving the office; Organize all files and mailings, photocopy documents, and create purchase orders and other clerical tasks as assigned by the Principal; Create and maintain an office room use schedule; Maintain calendar of events for Principal; Monitor email communication between Principal and staff to ensure timely responses to requests; Assist with determining coverages for the day.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree, at least three years’ experience as an administrative assistant, and strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Experience working in schools preferred.
