Position: Construction Superintendent - Finisher
Project Location: La Quinta, CA


  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities;
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications;
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process;
  • Understands the project plans, specifications and the Optimus Construction processes as well as identifies and solves problems;
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers inspectors, architects and other employees;
  • Helping with Client/Vendor needs such as access or storage space;
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Conducts Safety meetings that are adequately attended;
  • Daily routine of first to arrive on the site and last to leave;
  • Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office;
  • Attends all construction meetings;
  • Ascertain that the project is secured each night;
  • Perform other duties as directed by PM.

Main Tasks/Projects

  • Helps establishes strategies and action plans to beat the budget;
  • Plan/Document Control and record keeping including: daily reports, logs, weather reports, photographic records, critical path forecast, RFIs;
  • Opposing or approving demand/request from inspectors and sponsor representative for performances outside the contract;
  • Reviewing and adjusting construction methods that may involve great cost or risks to safety;
  • Maintain a good relationship with the Project Manager, seeking his/her assistance in the scheduling of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and all potential change orders;
  • Make out the Superintendent’s daily report each day;
  • Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list;
  • Perform other duties as directed by PM.

Minimum Requirements

  • Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project Scheduling Program (MS Project, Primavera, SureTrak, etc.);
  • OSHA 10 Hour Training and First Aid Certificate;
  • Clean Driving Record;
  • 5 + years of full charge Superintendent;
  • Experience with a production Podium/ Multi-family construction;
  • Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of residential construction.

Special Circumstances

  • Per project specific tasks weekend work or overtime could be required.
