The facilities are kept clean and nicer than other self-storage places I've seen, but the upper management is very tight fisted when it comes to the budget for repairs. They will go for the cheapest bid for repairs, even if it is poor workmanship.
Management offers a bonus every 6 months if you make goal, but then the joke is on you, it's not a real bonus! It comes out of your site's next six months profits, which is just digging a hole to get corporate asking why your numbers are low...But they are low because we had to pay for our own bonuses.
WARNING!!! You have to deal with angry customers on a regular basis. When you sign them up at the promotional rate, they rarely remember that it is just a special that lasts between 1-6 months. Once the special is gone, you're getting yelled at for the "rate increase". There are also customers that go past due, yet they blame you and get angry when you do not waive the fee or allow them access to their overlocked units. During the course of my employment, I received threats from a couple of customers.
The company is also fast to clean house and bring in all new staff. There is low longevity there. It seems rare to run into lower level employee that has been there more than 2 years.
