Electronics Engineer (Hardware Developer) position available at Oracle America, Inc. in Santa Clara, CA. Responsible for development of VLSI physical design methodologies and tools for Oracle's next generation microprocessor designs. Work closely with physical design team to develop flows and tools to deliver high speed complex designs at the cutting edge of custom VLSI technology. Areas of development include logic synthesis, floorplanning, datapath design, standard cell place and route tools and custom routing tools. Create tools and flows using complex data structures and algorithms written in high level programming language like C, C++ and scripting languages including Tcl/Tk or Perl in a Unix environment, tightly coupled with Synopsys Astro and ICC tools. Make presentations, train, and support design team members on tools and flows. Utilizes graduate-level research and analysis skills. Requires Master’s in Comp Sci, Elec Eng or related tech degree plus 6 mo of work exp or min semester long/equiv. school project exp. Edu. or exp. to include: 1) VLSI design automation, layout synthesis and logic synthesis, partitioning, place and route algorithms, combinational and sequential circuit analysis; 2) physical design (layout placement and routing) and performance analysis; 3) system level design of VLSI circuits, from specification through physical design and layout; 4) VLSI testing and validation at the chip and PCB levels and 5) design and analysis or Graph and Network algorithms. Exp may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or exp is acceptable. 8:00AM – 5:00PM, Mon-Fri; $102,731/year, standard company benefits.
