The days start at 6 am and end at 4:30 pm Other days wouldn't end until 9:30-11:00 pm depending if you take a evening trip that's your extra money. That's what we end up living for.
I've learned keep to yourself, don't speak unless your spoken to. Don't be ambitious. and to pick your friends wisely.
Over the last 13 years I've seen management weaken and it's very scary .In Custodial they're on us and very nice about it unless you take advantage of it. I only got paid vacation for the 1st time last July so I haven't used much.
We have a very diverse work culture. And I've learned a lot.
One of the hardest parts of the job is getting up when its -10 or 20 degrees below outside and driving in an ice storm. And the other is not knowing if your going to have help at lunch until after 11:10 am.
Best part are the kids all saying have a nice day, see you at lunch or singing on the bus in the morning, high fiving me with a smile and asking at the end of the day: if I had a nice day.
