8 Oreck Retail Stores, family owned and managed from Houston office.

General Responsibility: The district manager is responsible for motivating, encouraging and inspiring the sales team to meet personal goals, company goals and to help others reach higher levels. This employee must have the ability to give positive feedback to keep the sales team motivated and maintain a positive and encouraging work environment. The district manager must be able to identify, define and improve sales skills in all sales team members.

The district manager typically works in a different store each day to ensure that sales and operations of all stores are being managed efficiently. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the district and will conduct all business from the stores. A district manager will carry out policies and operate within the guidelines set forth by the corporate office and the managing partner of the company.

Principal Duties:
1.Drive Sales.
2.Ensures that store managers are maintaining the stores sales and operations.
3.Required to work all major retail days and Saturdays.
4.Create a sense of urgency to sell and ensures that all sales associates are on board with the same.
5.Oversee all district programs and directs the work of district personnel to ensure all monthly, quarterly, annual and long range goals are being met.
6.Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
7.Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
8.Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist stores in promoting sales.
9.Assigns store managers and sales representative to stores and have the ability to know how to put the right team members in the right place.
10.Analyzes and controls expenditures of district.
11.Monitors inventory levels for the district.
12.Recommends budget, expenditures and appropriations.
13.Conducts upbeat motivating monthly sales meetings for district sales team
14.Creates and executes store schedule, monitors and approves personal time off requests.
15.Ensures the proper maintenance off all stores and works with home office on repairs.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required, college and or related experience a plus.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common sales reports, budgets and some legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customer or members of the business community.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages and other basic math concepts in relation to sales figures.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, spreadsheet software such as Excel; and be able to master use of our point of sale software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly Supervises 20 to 30 employees in 8 retail stores and one service center. Responsible for carrying out the policies and procedures set by the corporate office. Other responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to handle, feel and demonstrate. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must have reliable transportation to travel to the 8 retail stores in the assigned district.
