Join the Magnet Team at OHSU. This opening is for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who reports to the nursing director of the medical/cardiovascular/ neuroscience/psychiatry division, with matrix reporting to the Chief of Vascular Surgery. The NP/PA in this position would practice with physicians and residents responsible for the vascular surgery inpatients.
Key role responsibilities include:
 Providing medical management of the vascular surgery inpatients
 Promoting an interdisciplinary team approach to the care of vascular patients
 Assuring effective and efficient patient flow and length of stay by partnering with the discharge case manager on a daily basis with case managers and at Interdisciplinary Care Coordination rounds
 Mentoring residents and clinical nurses
 Educating patients and families throughout the stay and for discharge and discharging in a timely manner
 Leading the monthly Vascular Surgery Best Practice Committee and contributes to improving the systems, processes and outcomes of patient care
Ideal candidates will hold:
 A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program, a current Oregon NP license and specialty certification, and DEA certification –OR-
 A Master’s degree from accredited PA program, a current Oregon PA license with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners, and a DEA certification
 A minimum of 3-5 years clinical inpatient nursing experience
 Experience in a relevant health care-related role
 Experience with cardiology patients is preferred
